Rose water works amazingly well on my skin. It brings redness down, gives me a little bit of moisture, it contains antioxidants, it plumps the skin and it actually helps the skin to heal quickly. I use it after washing my face and before moisturising, although sometimes I find I don’t even need to moisturise more after the rose water.
I also use it as a makeup setting spray. It gives the skin a glow immediately because of the natural oils present in it. I carry a little spray bottle of rose water in my bag to use on my face throughout the day; it’s very refreshing and I find the scent very relaxing.
There are different types available, and the best is 100% pure, which means nothing else has been added to it; it is made by distillation of organic rose petals, unlike many others that are just water mixed with rose oil.
One of the best is Poppy Austin rose water and it comes in a dark, glass bottle to preserve the antioxidants.
I’m still figuring out how to make my own rose water since there are some roses in the garden which are definitely organic since we don’t do much for them (I’m more into growing veggies than tending to the roses) but in the meantime, I’m really enjoying this one.
Have you tried rose water? Did your experience agree with mine?
