Since I quit the paleo diet and increased my carbohydrate, I also began to eat a lot of tropical fruit. This was because I found it difficult to eat 40% carbohydrate and I felt that the fruit could help me. However, after 2 weeks, I had a bad breakout of cystic acne on my cheeks and jawline.
Immediately, I stopped eating fruit and reduced the overall carbohydrate. However, I maintained the carbohydrates at a level higher than when I was on the paleo diet. This has cured the acne, and I will continue eating in this way, excluding all tropical fruit and all simple sugars, and relying instead on complex carbohydrates.
