Most of us have been told that plenty of exercise is the easiest way to loose and maintain a healthy weight. While exercise is very beneficial for both physical and mental health, working out too much or intensely at the wrong time can have a bad effect in our body.
Cortisol is a stress related hormone which is necessary for our health, however nowadays most of us have too much of it in our bodies which is not good since cortisol makes the body hold on to extra weight. When we have intense workouts we produce cortisol and this can be bad if you already have a cortisol imbalance.
If you are struggling to loose weight and you are also a very stressed out person, you may find that taking a break from heavy workouts can have much better results (assuming you follow a healthy diet) since it will help you lower stress levels. However, if you truly love intense workouts like I do, keep them for days when you slept well and you feel good.
