Maybe you had too many sweet treats during the holidays, or glasses of wine, or buñuelos, or those awful white Christmas oreos and now you are regretting it. What to do to speed up that detox process and feel good again? Here are 3 tips that can quickly make you feel much better quickly.
Water (filtered) is extremely important to repair the dehydration that comes after having alcoholic drinks. It is important to make the effort to have plenty of it, it is amazing what it can do for mental clarity and energy. Adding some pink himalayan salt makes it even better since it replaces lost minerals from dehydration. Pure coconut water is also great.
Go to bed early:
Getting plenty of sleep is essential to help the body repair itself and lower stress levels. Changing routine, sleeping habits, eating habits, and diet during the holidays puts stress in the body even if we don’t realise. Going to bed late can also affect hormones in bad ways, so getting plenty of sleep is another way to help balance things out.
There are some supplements that I love to support liver function which can be sluggish after a month of partying and indulging a bit too much. My favourites are turmeric root and N-acetylcysteine (NAC), both of which are great antioxidants and I really feel their beneficial effects. Milk thistle is also amazing.
