I’ve been drinking apple cider vinegar with water first thing in the morning for months. It took me a while to get into this routine, but now it’s become something I actually enjoy very much. The reason for this, is that I notice a difference in how I feel when I drink it.
First of all, it wakes me up right away. Maybe it’s something to do with the acid taste that wakes me up, but I feel awake immediately and it also freshens my breath.
Apple cider vinegar is a prebiotic, which means that it feeds the probiotic bacteria in the gut. I’m obsessed with probiotics and with having a healthy gut flora because it is the basis for good health (and clear skin). So, it feels really good to be feeding the good bacteria and preventing any candida first thing in the morning. Plus, it supports liver function which is very important for health too, specially nowadays that we are surrounded by so many toxic chemicals.
I dissolve 1-2 tbsp of the vinegar in half a glass of water. Right after, I drink a glass of plain water to rinse my teeth because even though I like it for health, it’s not the best thing for teeth due to the acid. I also like using it on my salads, but to be honest I forget to do this most times. Apparently you can have this drink in the middle of the afternoon instead of your usual coffee and it will give you lots of energy. I haven’t tried this yet, but I will and let you know.
It’s important to get organic, unfiltered and raw or unpasteurised apple cider vinegar. Organic because apples contain huge amounts of pesticides which would get dissolved into the vinegar and raw, because that way all of the enzymes will be present. I also like getting it in a glass bottle, vinegar can react with plastic and I don’t want to ingest plastic. It sounds very fancy, but apple cider vinegar is a very inexpensive product, so buying the top quality is still affordable. I like Bragg or “Dynamic health” which is the one I’m using at the moment, but Bragg is cheaper 🙂 .
Do you like apple cider vinegar? How do you use it?
